This Canadian play takes place during Halloween in 1998. Six people have come in secret to play a murder mystery game at a rustic island cottage. Invited by writer Charles Prince, they appear set for a weekend of fun, until ghosts from the past begin to haunt the proceedings and it becomes clear that all is not as it seems. The game takes on a sinister dimension when the guests begin to die and the remaining players realize that they are playing for their lives. Tension rises. Secret passageways, incriminating letters, hidden compartments and a 25-year-old unsolved mystery, twist and turn toward the unexpected conclusion.

Recommended for ages 14 years+ and fans of thrillers, mysteries and suspense.

Content advisory: A mystery/thriller. Contains adult content and themes involving betrayal, murder and death.

Scarborough Theatre Guild Rehearsal Unit – 2105 Midland Avenue, Unit 16, Scarborough (the building is immediately north of the defunct Midland LRT station, on east side, south of Progress. Access to the unit and parking lot face Cosentino Drive)

Weekly: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, 7-10 pm (no rehearsals December 24-31)

Begins: Tuesday, December 15, 7-10 pm (read-through)

Tech week: Sunday, February 28 (all day), March 1-3 (evening), March 4 (audience invited dress rehearsal)

Additional rehearsals may be added if required.

Auditions are open/group auditions, everyone will be together during their audition time. Expect to be at the audition for the entire time (7-10 pm).

The auditions will consist of scene readings from the show, based on the role(s) you indicate you are interested in.

You may also be asked to read for other roles as well.

When you book your audition, you will be forwarded readings that you can become familiar with, prior to your audition date. MEMORIZING IS NOT EXPECTED.

Ensemble cast, ages are somewhat flexible.

Charles (male-presenting, 50 years+): An urbane, successful British mystery-novelist and the ultimate host of the annual gathering. Must be able to present a British accent.

Elwood (male-presenting, 45-55 years): Confident, corporate CEO type. Powerful and he knows it. Balding.

McKenzie (female-presenting, 20-30 years): Elwood’s witty, extroverted fashion model girlfriend with a tough exterior.

Willy (male-presenting, 30-40 years): A former football player. He is friendly, gregarious, has a good sense of humor, cheerful with a constant stream of jokes. At times, Willy is seen using a wheelchair.

Valerie (female-presenting, 45-50 years): Henri’s older sister, she is smart, savvy, confident and used to getting her own way. Very well turned out.

Henri (female-presenting, late 20s-early 30s): Valerie’s younger sister, she is shy and easily intimidated. She dresses conservatively.
